Welcome to the Chung Wah Society, a social and sporting club for Darwin’s burgeoning Chinese population.

Our aims are to promote harmony and goodwill between Chinese residents in the NT and people of other nationalities; promote the general, cultural education, social interests and welfare of its members; and provide and maintain the Chinese Temple as a place of worship.

Museum

The Museum aims to encourage greater awareness and understanding of the history of the Chinese in the Territory. It is open to the public and other institutions

Temple

The religion practiced at the Temple is a combination of Buddhism,Taoism and Confucianism

What We Do

Jade Dragons Dance Troupe

The Jade Dragons is dedicated to teaching a new generation of girls the beauty and art of traditional and modern Chinese cultural dancing.

Seniors Group

The Chung Wah Society Seniors Group meets throughout the year for a wide range of activities.

Lion Dance Troupe

The Dragon and Lion Dance Troupe is made up of dedicated and energetic individuals who have learnt and preserved this traditional art.
