Dennis Low
Dennis has been a integral to the observance of the religious activities and maintenance of the Chinese Temple for more than 10 years as Temple Officer and as Temple subcommittee member of Chung Wah Society when the Temple Officer position was held by Meryvn Chin.
Dennis has filled in as relieving caretaker when the temple caretakers were on leave last year and this position required him to attend the Chinese Temple on a daily basis for a month to perform the necessary functions of the caretaker, including opening the temple at 8.00am and closing the temple at 4.00pm. He has been a regular source for the Committee on Temple related matters and to provide sound advice on observing the religious festivals and seeking auspicious dates for events and other activities for the Society.
During the Co-vid 19 lockdown in March this year, Dennis volunteered his time by attending the Chinese Temple during the limited opening hours, to assist the caretaker in monitoring and observing the Co-vid safety procedures for Temple visitors and worshippers.
Dennis has also provided valued co-ordination behind the scenes for the 2020 Chinese New Year Lion Street blessings by organising the necessary bus hire and firework licences with the authorities.
Dennis is a worthy recipient for the 2020 Bill Wong Award
